Bears vs Payette

The Bears had another good game. Spencer pitched a great six and a half innings. He had one of the best games he has had this season. Jordan came in in the seventh and finished the game. The Bears had some great catches and stops. They had a lot of good reads, and double plays. Their bats were also hot. Nate hit a home run, and their were numerous doubles and key singles. The Payette team struggled from the beginning and never quite caught up. The Bears beat Payette 11-4. They will play Fruitland in the State Championship tomorrow at 4:00pm. It will also be broadcast live on KVSI.

Bears vs Bonners Ferry

The Bears played their first game of the state tournament. Bonners Ferry scored one run in the first inning, but that was it. Nate pitched a great game. The Bears had all their bats working for them. They were also locating the hits in key holes, which drove in many more runs. Bonners Ferry only had two errors, but they couldn't hit off Nate. The Bears ten-run-ruled Bonners Ferry 15-1 in the fifth inning. Today we play Payette at 4pm, it should be broad cast on KVSI. I will keep you posted on the games as they play out.

Happy Mother's Day

I just want to take this opportunity to thank all the mothers in my life. First, my mother is my hero. She is one of the strongest women I know. She has always let me be me. She let me explore and become who I am. She is always there when I need advice, or just need to vent. I am very blessed to have been raised by such a smart, kind, and strong woman. Next, I would like to thank my grandmothers. Each one has taught me something different, but vitally important. They are all very important in who I have become. Also, I would like to thank my mother-in-law, she has always been there give advice. She is also very proud of and devoted to her family, and loves them very much. Thanks again to all the great mothers I have had the fortune of being around and learning from. Happy Mother's Day!

We Lived

Its official, we lived through this semester! It has been a very hard and draining semester, so we are very glad to have it in the past. We actually have free time know, whats that? I am so excited to be able to catch up on all the projects I have planned to do, but never had the time. Cameron is so excited to actually have a wife, not just a statue holding a book. I am not sure what the summer has in store for us, but I am sure that it will be great. Right know, we are just happy we don't have to read another textbook or take another test until the fall!

Bears Do It Again

Well, they did it. The Bears made it to state for the third time in a row. They won the district championship yesterday against Snake River. I'm not gonna lie, it was a very close game. We struggled in the first few innings, but then a pitching change gave us the pitches we liked and we took full advantage. They caught up to our lead, but then some key hits and a home run by Nate gave us the lead we needed to win. They played a good game and earned their trip to state. If anyone doesn't know State is in Ontario, Oregon (about 20 min out of Boise, depending on the traffic) next weekend. We are all pretty excited for them, and I am really excited to go. I usually get a good start on my summer tan, and Cameron can actually sit by me (not really he is more of a pace back and forth kind of guy, but heres wishen).

As all those who know us already know, we, as well as our families, have had a very tough month. For those that don't know what has been going on, here is a very brief overview. My grandpa Parker had been fighting a chronic illness for many years. This last battle he had to fight was by far his hardest ever. He was in the hospital for about two weeks before he passed away. This was on a Tuesday. The previous Saturday a kid Cameron and I went to school with passed away. His funeral and my grandpa's viewing were both on Friday. My grandpa's funeral was on Saturday. The Sunday following the funeral Cameron's uncle also passed away. These are just some of the emotionally taxing events that have happened. I would just like to thank everyone who helped us during these hard weeks. I would also like to thank my wonderful husband. He has been my rock during all of this. I don't think I would have made it through without his love and support. I am very blessed to have such a kind, understanding, and selfless husband.

Bear Lake Needs Your Help!

It has come to my attention that the resort Black Bear Mountain is trying to get a land swap with the Forest Service. They want to exchange land in Island Park for land from Worm Creek Canyon (St. Charles) to Paris Spring. This land they plan to turn into a huge PRIVATE development. They want to turn Paris Peek into a ski resort, and will have private access to some of St. Charles Canyon, Bloomington Canyon, and Paris Canyon. This would destroy the beautiful woodlands that we have taken for granted for all these years. This means no hunting, hiking, horse back riding, no picnics, no pictures by Paris Spring, and no Snowmobiling. In short this would totally cut off that side of the valley to the community, at least the ones that can't afford the expensive membership fees. Also, it would take away vital summer range land from the ranchers of the valley. This would force many to leave the farms many have owned for more that five generations. I realize that the valley is in dire need of economy, but this is not the way. It will only benefit the few, while depleting resources from the majority. It says on their website that this resort is meant as a holiday get away, a community of second vacation homes. This will not bring a stable population into the valley, and if we lose ranching families, our population will go down. Here is where we need your help. The forest service is making it's decision on April 14. You can write in letters telling them that the community thinks this is a bad idea. This will help them see that the makers of the resort really do not intent to help the valley, but to earn a dollar for themselves. The address is as follows
