Butch Cassidy Days

We hosted the Bear Lake All-Night Men's Softball Tournament this weekend. It was really crazy, I stayed up for at least 38 hours strait, no naps! I took score for at least 17 hours in a row! I had to direct the tournament when Shane, Zack, and Cameron were playing. We were sooo shorthanded. It was really just Shane, Zack, Cameron, and Me, with a few others here and there making the thing tick. It was soo rugged, but fun looking back. Saturday was Butch Cassidy Day, we went to the shoot out and PBS was there. They filmed it and it is going to be on TV, little Montpelier on TV! We had a good chat with my cousin Amanda and her husband Nate. They were at the tournament because Nate playes for Fathead. We then went to the park to the craft fair and the dinner. It was way to expensive so we went and ate at the Ranch Hand, I highly recommend it! Then we watched fireworks with my aunt Dana and Christopher. They were some of the best fireworks I have seen in Bear Lake for a while. All in all it was a really fun, but tiring and frustrating weekend.

Jeep Ride

Last night my family went on a jeep ride. My dad has a 1947 Army Jeep, like the ones in the world war II movies. We love going on rides in it. We went up Paris canyon and over to Sleights canyon and down. We say a lot of cows, and three deer. We took Mya and she kept trying to get on the top of the jeep, she is such a stinker! Well tonight the All-Night-Men's-Softball Tournament begins. It will be fun, I hope. Tomorrow we will see;)

All Star Tournament

Well, this week was crazier than usual. We worked the little league All-Star Tournament. It was soo busy! We sold $4000.00 worth of merchandise just in the first day. Cameron decided he had to ump on Saturday, so I was luck that my mom got back from Provo in time to help! It was also a big weekend for Bear Lake as a whole. Just to clear the air, it was not my dad in the wreck, thank heavens! It was Bud Holjeson. Also, he was not going 100+ miles an hour, he was going 58 responding to a horrible accident at the lake, he would have been dead if he was going that fast. I don't know much about Tod other than he has a compound fracture in his leg. That was all just for everyone's info, Idaho State Journal and the news got their info so wrong that I just thought I should correct it. Anyway here are some pics of what we do on the weekends, these are from the girls tournament, but it is pretty much the same.

Disney Princess Quiz

According to the answers you have just chosen you are most like the Disney Princess Pocahontas. Pocahontas, the beautiful daughter of Chief Powahatan, is a playful free spirited young woman who knows every tree waterfall and wild creature in her forest home. With a name that means little mischief. Pocahontas loves adventure and excitement. Her curiosity and Independence make her a strong girl whose passionate spirit touches and changes all those who know her. You defy convention and sometimes do what is considered taboo. Unfortunately, others do not always appreciate your differences, so it's good that you are so strong-willed. You are loyal and you believe in fate.

Funny, Right? What Disney Princess Are You?

Another Crazy Week

Well, this week was as crazy as the last one. We got to Bear Lake on Wednesday. Cameron mowed Grandma Parker's lawn like normal, we went home, and then we went and played coed and men's league softball. This week Cameron had his first experience umpiring legion baseball. He did the game on Thursday night, and then he did most of the tournament games that weekend. I was forced to take over as the unofficial director of the tournament, me, crazy right!:) I took score all day and ran the mechanics of the tournament, while Cameron umpired the games. Saturday, we had a really crazy thing happen. Nate was coming home (home plate:)) and the catcher had the ball and came up the line. It happened so fast! Nate and the catcher from Jackson collided. The kid held up the ball and then had a seizure! BreAnna Crane called 911 while I sprinted up the hill to unlock the gate for the ambulance! They took him to the hospital for a cat scan and observation. He came back to the park about four hours later! Obviously the kid got defensive MVP, anyone who holds onto the ball while seizing is a good player in my book! Spencer Smedley got best all-around player, he had a great tournament. A kid from Burley got Offensive MVP and Burley won the tournament. Cameron did a great job as the official, it was funny seeing him in his getout, as you can see. We both had fun, even though the medical emergency was kind of crazy!

P.S. I think I am going to make my blog private. We had a crazy post that was a little scary, so I think we will go private, even though I don't want to. If you visit this blog at all send me your e-mail and I will add you! Thanks!

Sparks Family Reunion and Knutti Family Picknick

This week we went to Cameron's mom's family reunion at the Caribou ranger station. Just to give you a background, most of the uncles and cousins were born and raised in Salt Lake, we were camping in the middle of no where, there was no running water, no cell phone service, and they all had toys that they let their little kids drive, I'm talking five-year-olds driving four-wheelers. It started off nuts and that is how it was the entire time. We were the first ones up there, and we got lost. The Google map his uncle sent us had us taking an old overgrown logging road. We got there, finally after asking two people for directions, and were covered with mosquitoes as soon as we got out of the car. We got everything ready and made dinner, tinfoil dinners and grilled corn on the cob, most of his family got there late. The next day we went on four-wheeler rides a lot to escape from the craziness! We went up to the old china town Caribou City. It was really cool to hear the history. We went fly fishing, and I caught my first fish, it wasn't much but I still thought it was cool. It was so hot and we were by Palisades, so we went and jumped off the bridge to cool off. We got back and went for an evening four-wheeler ride. We saw four elk, a cute little skunk, a fox, a moose, and six little sheep dog puppies. The next day we shot guns. I learned to shoot a shotgun, it was way fun. It was also fun for grandpa Sparks to be able to teach the Utah kids how to shoot. Then we drove down and jumped off the bridge again. Then that night we stayed to eat Cameron's uncle Justin's awesome elk steak. It was amazing! We drove to Alpine, Wyoming to shoot fireworks. We only stayed because we were begged. So we went and it was a mess! As soon as we all got there Cameron's cousin Savanna locked her little two year old brother in his aunt's car with the keys in it. We spent about an hour trying to get him out, but we eventually had to call the police. Then his uncle didn't even light off his fireworks, we just went back to camp. The whole week we waited for grandpa's stories, but no one would listen to them when he tried so he didn't tell any. The next day, after a lot of drama, we left. It was a heck of a weekend! We had most of our nice stuff either broken or damaged, and there was a lot of disrespect. On top of everything else I had the worst allergies I have ever had. My face was so swollen and my lips looked like Angelina Jolie's, no joke. Cameron says we are never going to another reunion, but in a few days they will just be funny memories, I hope! We did have fun doing us stuff, but it was not worth all the stuff we had to put up with. In contrast, Saturday we went to the Knutti family barbecue. It was a complete opposite of the last reunion. We had fun just sitting and shooting the breeze. I love just being able to sit and talk with no pressure or lectures, but all families are different.
