In Memory Of . . .

Grandpa Sizemore

In my opinion there has never been such a man as my great grandpa. He was my best friend, my doctor, and my babysitter. My mom worked, so I got to go to my great grandparents house during the day. My grandma Beth died when I was four, so it was just grandpa and me. We had the most unique adventures. We had a pet squirrel in the closet, an archaeological dig out by the barn, pets, slay rides, and exhibitions to the market for treats. Every morning we would go to the Paris Cafe for toast and chocolate (hot chocolate), then we would have a long day of mending shoes and making boots, broken up with a treat run. Then it would be time to go home, just before mom would pick me up. If mom was gone nights, we would make dinner, usually my favorite, his famous brown noodles, talk to our friends on his old radio, and watch a movie, usually the Land Before Time or Dances With Wolfs. As grandpa got older he became the head of Veterans Administrations for the Bear Lake Valley. We then would dedicate our time to helping the war veterans of the valley. We would place flags on graves to indicate the graves of the veterans. He was a very very busy man. In his free time he liked to work at the Paris Museum, which he made happen, and coordinate the 4th of July Program, which he was over for several years. He fought in World War II as a radio operator in the 776th tank destroyer division. Even though it was very hard for him, he would tell anyone who would listen about his war experience. He was an extraordinary person, and I feel extremely lucky to have been able to be part of the life of such a loving and selfless man.

Uncle Doug

Uncle Doug was one of the most loving people I have ever known. He loved his family most of all. He was always ready for a camping expedition, a family dinner, or a family game. He loved coming over and having a good talk. He also loved to go fishing. Once, there were two women in his spot when we were fishing at Montpelier reservoir. He went right down and sat in between them. He turned and asked one for a worm, after that they talked all afternoon. He was always so happy to be with people. He loved sports, and would always go to what ever was going on at the high school. He was a great loving person, and he will be greatly missed.

Grandpa Parker

I have never known a stronger man. He was tough as nails, and as stubborn as an ox. He had the memory of an elephant, and was as wise as an owl. He never stopped learning. He, also, was one of the greatest tricksters I have ever known. He loved to teach. He was always teaching me, whether it was the anatomic name for fingers, songs to sing on the four-wheeler, how to correctly peal a potato, to drive a snowmobile, how to track an animal, what kind of rock I found, or how to be the best person I could be. He always tough me to be tolerant, to look into the circumstances before judging the event. He loved almost everyone he came into contact with. Once you came to a family event, you became part of the Parker family, whether you liked it or not. He loved his mountains, and spent all the time he could learning from Mother Nature. He also loved sports, and supported his family in what ever they did, yes, even cheerleading. It was not his favorite, but he came, I think my flying made him nervous. He was a kind, honest, hard working, man, one of the last of his kind. He will be loved and missed by all those who knew him.

Mrs. Pederson

Mrs. Pederson is one of the wisest people I have ever known. She knew a lot about a lot, and would gladly share. She loved to learn, and in turn made me love to let her teach me. I was fortunate enough to have her as a teacher for all four years of high school. In that time I learned. Of course I learned English, but I learned so much more. I learned a love of classic literature, an appreciation for poetry, an interest in history, a tolerance for research papers, and most important, to think for myself. She was not just a teacher, she was a friend, a mentor, and a confidant. She will be missed by me, and all those who had the opportunity to have their lives touched by such a beautiful person.

Aunt Rosemarry

Rosemarry was one of the funnest people I have ever met. She would tell it like it was, and if you didn't like it, that was too bad. She always had a funny way of making even the worst moments happy. She loved her family and friends, and every one she ever met loved her. She loved animal, and was always happy to watch ours when we were away. She was a feisty ray of sunshine that I will never forget.

Grandpa Ted

Grandpa Ted was one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of knowing. He was so kind and loving towards all his grandchildren and every pet he ever had. He loved animals and had many, very many. He was always good to help. He let me use his trailer to camp in every Raspberry Days so I wouldn't have to drive home late at night just to go back to work early in the morning. He also let my cousin Jake use it when he was a hunting guide in Montana. He also had a sense of humor. When he was in the Navy, his ship was on leave in Japan. He, and a bunch of other sailors, bought kimonos. They dressed up like girls. When the ship was leaving, they came on deck and started waving to the Japanese men on the dock. The men, fearing that they were taking their girls, hopped in their boats and started after the ship. They sure got a surprise when they learned that they were chasing after American sailors, not their girls. He loved camping, hunting, family, and friends. I miss him very much.

Bears vs Fruitland

Well, the championship game was a good one. Nate pitched a great game, he was throwing one of his best. Fruitland also had a lights out pitcher. He was a lefty, and he could locate the ball like I couldn't believe. The Bears had a tough game, but they played hard, very hard. Fruitland hit some key line drives and an early home run. Despite a homer from Nate, the Bears lost 6-1. I guess it was time to let the other kids have a turn. The Fruitland team earned it, but we are still two up on them.; )

Bears vs Payette

The Bears had another good game. Spencer pitched a great six and a half innings. He had one of the best games he has had this season. Jordan came in in the seventh and finished the game. The Bears had some great catches and stops. They had a lot of good reads, and double plays. Their bats were also hot. Nate hit a home run, and their were numerous doubles and key singles. The Payette team struggled from the beginning and never quite caught up. The Bears beat Payette 11-4. They will play Fruitland in the State Championship tomorrow at 4:00pm. It will also be broadcast live on KVSI.

Bears vs Bonners Ferry

The Bears played their first game of the state tournament. Bonners Ferry scored one run in the first inning, but that was it. Nate pitched a great game. The Bears had all their bats working for them. They were also locating the hits in key holes, which drove in many more runs. Bonners Ferry only had two errors, but they couldn't hit off Nate. The Bears ten-run-ruled Bonners Ferry 15-1 in the fifth inning. Today we play Payette at 4pm, it should be broad cast on KVSI. I will keep you posted on the games as they play out.

Happy Mother's Day

I just want to take this opportunity to thank all the mothers in my life. First, my mother is my hero. She is one of the strongest women I know. She has always let me be me. She let me explore and become who I am. She is always there when I need advice, or just need to vent. I am very blessed to have been raised by such a smart, kind, and strong woman. Next, I would like to thank my grandmothers. Each one has taught me something different, but vitally important. They are all very important in who I have become. Also, I would like to thank my mother-in-law, she has always been there give advice. She is also very proud of and devoted to her family, and loves them very much. Thanks again to all the great mothers I have had the fortune of being around and learning from. Happy Mother's Day!

We Lived

Its official, we lived through this semester! It has been a very hard and draining semester, so we are very glad to have it in the past. We actually have free time know, whats that? I am so excited to be able to catch up on all the projects I have planned to do, but never had the time. Cameron is so excited to actually have a wife, not just a statue holding a book. I am not sure what the summer has in store for us, but I am sure that it will be great. Right know, we are just happy we don't have to read another textbook or take another test until the fall!

Bears Do It Again

Well, they did it. The Bears made it to state for the third time in a row. They won the district championship yesterday against Snake River. I'm not gonna lie, it was a very close game. We struggled in the first few innings, but then a pitching change gave us the pitches we liked and we took full advantage. They caught up to our lead, but then some key hits and a home run by Nate gave us the lead we needed to win. They played a good game and earned their trip to state. If anyone doesn't know State is in Ontario, Oregon (about 20 min out of Boise, depending on the traffic) next weekend. We are all pretty excited for them, and I am really excited to go. I usually get a good start on my summer tan, and Cameron can actually sit by me (not really he is more of a pace back and forth kind of guy, but heres wishen).
