Special Olympics 2009

Thursday I had the great experience to go to Boise and volunteer at the Special Olympics. The entire dental hygiene department at ISU went as a part of Special Smiles. I had a great time with my friends. We got a hotel, shopped, and went out to eat. At the Olympics I made mouth guards for the athletes who played sports where they would need a mouth guard. I also did fluoride varnish treatments, and helped sterilize instruments for the screenings. I met many athletes from all over the world. I even got a pin from a guy from Trinidad and Tobago, he was so cute. I even saw Jo Biden's motorcade, I didn't get to see him because they closed the floor so he could have a private tour and set us back about four hours, but I'm not bitter:) It was so cool! We got a shirt and a scarf. The scarfs were home made by people all over the world! I wish we could have gone for more than two days and seen some events, but I had a great time!

Dead Fish!

Tonight we had a little emergency at the Crane house. Cameron was at work and I was just feeding our fish. I turned the light on and our mom fish came floating out of the boat, pale and upside down! I freaked and ran into the bathroom, which was dumb. So I thought I got it together and ran to the couch to get my phone. I almost puked and passed out trying to get there, but I did and called Cameron. He couldn't come home and get the fish, so he called our neighbor TR. He and Cameron are really good friends and he came over. Bless his heart, he netted the fish and flushed it down the toilet while I hid in the corner. What a night, really I am going to have such bad dreams tonight!

They Grow Up So Fast

Friday we went to Bear Lake to watch the cousin's senior night. I can't believe they are that old, it freaks me out because that meant I am getting old, crap! The cheerleaders had a hard night because one of the girls got hurt and totally messed up the routine. They fixed it and did a great job anyway. Ashley also danced and did a dang good job!

REALLY!

I just have to have a quick vent, so bear with me. Who do these sports people think they are? Is football not American, or all sports played in America for that matter? I am so sick of these too good for everyone sports figures disrespecting every hard working, blue-blooded American by not putting their hand on their hart during the National Anthem! Is it that hard, one -year-olds can do it, so I don't think that is it. I just can't understand why they think they don't have to show their national pride, unless they don't have any! It just pisses, excuse the French, me right off. There are to many people who have fought and died to give us the way of life we are used to not to show them the slightest respect by such a small thing as placing their hand on their heart for a few minutes during the National Anthem! I just don't see how no one is doing anything about this! Really, it just makes me sick!

Husband of the Year

I have had one of the hardest weeks of my life this last week. We started seeing real patients on Thursday, which was a huge stress! Cameron came in and was such a good sport! Then, knowing I would be frazzled because I stayed an extra three hours at school, after it was done, he got me roses and cleaned the house! Then he made me go to the doctor for a mystery rash, probably stress induced or an allergic reaction to Bajio, but he was worried. They gave me a medicine that in normal people wouldn't react but with me it makes me really, really, really, tired and dizzy! He has been so great to take care of me, and keep me form itching my skin off! On top of everything else he cleaned the stove, that's right the STOVE! He also found time to go fishing, take me to mini bull riding to watch my cousin John, and go to Kayloni's 15th birthday party! I am not sure if aliens have taken my real husband away and replaced him with super man, or if he is just this great on his own, but I like it! Thanks for everything, Cam, I couldn't do it without you!
